Description CYLINDRA
The 'Cylindra' variety of Chinese cabbage is an early-maturing type with a growing period of about 65-70 days. The plants are compact, reaching a height of 30-35 cm, forming elongated, dense heads weighing an average of 1-1.2 kg, sometimes up to 1.5 kg. The cabbage leaves are light yellow with white veins; the wrapper leaves are bright green, blistered, and wavy at the edges. The juicy and crunchy leaves have a sweet taste, making this variety particularly attractive for making salads.

The 'Cylindra' variety is characterized by resistance to bolting and tolerates low light well, allowing it to be grown both in open ground and in greenhouses. Despite this, under greenhouse conditions, leaf scorching issues may occur at early stages due to high temperatures. The plants have good resistance to fungal diseases and can continue growing even after frost, which extends the fruiting period.

However, growing in open ground can present challenges with certain diseases, such as bacterial spot, as well as pests, such as the flea beetle, which may reduce yield and product quality. Nevertheless, the variety is well-suited for culinary use due to the tender texture and pleasant taste of the leaves, making it an excellent choice for fresh salads and other dishes.
