Tensai

Peking cabbage variety Tensai (KS 374) F1 is an early hybrid developed by breeders of Kitano Seeds from the Netherlands. This variety is characterized by strong growth and the ability to form dense, elongated-cylindrical heads weighing 1.5 to 2 kg. The outer leaf color is light green with slight ruffling, while the inner head has an attractive yellow hue. The cabbage has tender, juicy, crisp leaves with a pleasant sweet taste, making it especially popular for fresh consumption.

The Tensai hybrid exhibits high resistance to major diseases such as leaf spot, leaf edge browning, and certain races of clubroot, ensuring stable yields and high product quality. The cabbage thrives on soils with low acidity and demonstrates good stress tolerance, including drought and high temperatures. Due to its resilience and ability to recover quickly from adverse conditions, this variety is suitable for cultivation in both open and protected soil, as well as for autumn planting.

The marketable crop retains its quality even during prolonged transportation, making this hybrid attractive for fresh markets and distribution. Tensai cabbage is characterized by high yield and strong leaf canopy, ensuring good head mass. The maturity period is approximately 55-60 days, and under proper storage conditions, the crop can be preserved for up to six months, expanding its application and marketing potential.
