The common bean variety «Strela» is a mid-season grain variety with a vegetation period of 75-84 days. Plants are compact, determinate type, 55-60 cm high, with a well-developed central stem and medium branching, having 5-9 productive nodes. Leaves are trifoliate, oval-oblong shape of medium size, and inflorescences are racemose with dark pink flowers. Pods are flat-cylindrical, 10-13 cm long, coarse-fibrous, with an acute apex. Seeds are smooth, shiny, elliptical shape with purple skin color and white hilum with a single-row dark ring. Mass of 1000 seeds is 280-330 g. The variety «Strela» is characterized by high seed productivity: up to 32 pods form on one plant, each pod contains an average of 3.6 seeds, which provides a seed mass per plant of about 28.1 g. The yield of the variety reaches 2.52 t/ha, which is significantly higher than standard indicators. Seeds have good dispersibility, uniformity and high taste qualities, and protein content in them is 25-27%. The variety is resistant to main bean diseases, including anthracnose, bacterial blight and yellow mosaic virus, which increases its reliability in cultivation. «Strela» is recommended for cultivation in various zones, including the Central Black Earth region of Russia. It ripens evenly and is suitable for harvesting by direct combine harvesting, which facilitates agronomic processes. Due to its qualities and productivity, this variety is a valuable choice for the grain direction of bean cultivation, ensuring a stable and quality yield.
