The 'Svetlaya' bean is the result of the ICG SB RAS breeding program, designed to provide a stable yield in short-summer climates. Unlike many imported climbing bean varieties, this hybrid is adapted to sharp temperature fluctuations and demonstrates high growth energy despite a relatively compact plant height (50–60 cm).

Technical features and yield

The key advantage of 'Svetlaya' is its early maturity. The growing season lasts only 50–65 days, which allows for a full harvest before the onset of autumn frosts. As a climbing asparagus bean, it requires supports, but it significantly saves plot space due to its vertical growth habit.

• Appearance: Pods at technical maturity are deep green, with a diameter of 9–10 mm.
• Texture: The absence of a parchment layer and fibers makes this bean ideal for cooking whole.
• Application: A vegetable sugar bean, perfectly suited for freezing, canning, and fresh culinary use.
