Basil Velvet

A Spicy Classic with a Minty Twist

The «Barkhat» basil variety from Agrofirma Aelita stands out from traditional varieties due to its unique aromatic profile. While most basils offer a sharp clove or peppery finish, «Barkhat» focuses on subtlety. Its spicy taste, enriched with distinct sweet notes, is complemented by a clear minty aroma, opening up new culinary horizons.

Agrotechnics and Appearance

This compact plant, reaching only 20–30 cm in height, is perfect for container gardening, windowsills, or as an ornamental border plant. It requires minimal space while maintaining a lush green appearance throughout the season. From germination (10–14 days after sowing) to harvest, it takes 60–70 days.

Why Choose This Variety?

«Barkhat» is a top choice for those who value both aesthetics and a delicate palate. Its compact nature makes it ideal for:

• Indoor gardening: thrives in pots and balcony boxes.
• Culinary creativity: the minty trail makes it essential for sweet marinades, summer dessert salads, and as a fresh garnish for beverages.
• Landscaping: the low-growing bushes create neat, vibrant green borders.

Strengths: high ornamental value, ease of care, and a unique flavor profile that appeals to those who dislike overly pungent or medicinal notes in herbs. Weaknesses: requires full sun exposure; in the shade, the plant tends to stretch and lose its aromatic intensity.
