Winter barley variety "Vasya" is a mid-season, multi-row grain-roughage variety recommended for cultivation in the Krasnodar Territory and the North Caucasus region. The vegetation period ranges from 215 to 242 days, ensuring optimal ripening under these climatic conditions. The plant is of medium length with long, hooked rachises, which promotes good ear development and yield formation.

The variety differs in lodging resistance and winter hardiness at the level of the standard, ensuring stability of crops under adverse weather conditions. Frost resistance of the variety is average, which requires consideration when choosing a growing region. An important characteristic is high yield: average yield in the region reaches 64 c/ha, while potential yield according to the originator data can reach 107-116 c/ha.

"Vasya" has good resistance to diseases, is weakly affected by powdery mildew, however, it can suffer significantly from helminthosporiosis. Protein content in the grain is within 9.3-10.0%, which makes it valuable for grain-roughage use. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 38 to 46 grams, indicating good quality of seed material. The pedigree of the variety includes lines Traminer and Rubezh, which is reflected in its adaptive and productive properties.
