Barley variety Nevada is a Canadian transgenic winter type NORMAN, developed using nanotechnology and DNA cell transformation by SERTIS HOLDING GROUP. This variety is distinguished by high frost and drought resistance, confirmed by tests under various climatic conditions, including severe winters with temperatures down to -42 °C and hot summers up to +48 °C. Plants reach a height of 100-110 cm, have erect bush with a tillering coefficient of about 26 stems, strong stems and cylindrical six-rowed spikes 18 cm long with long awns. Grain is large, golden in color, which makes this variety stand out from traditional barley types.
Nevada has a medium-early vegetation period of 260-270 days and high yield potential reaching 13.8 tons per hectare. The variety is characterized by high resistance to diseases and pests, allowing it to be grown for up to 10 consecutive years on the same field without significant reduction in productivity. Drought resistance is rated at 8 points, and cold resistance at 9 points, making this barley suitable for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine.
Seeds of the Nevada variety are certified and supplied in packages of 1000 kg. For quality preservation, storage at air temperature +7-10 °C and seed moisture not exceeding 10% is recommended. Barley is used for both food and animal feed purposes, making it a profitable and versatile choice for agricultural producers.
