The spring barley variety "MOSCOW 3" is a medium-maturity variety with a vegetative period ranging from 65 to 93 days, depending on the growing region. Plants of medium height (58-90 cm) possess high resistance to lodging and heat, ensuring yield stability in various climatic conditions. The bushes are upright with dark green leaves, while the stem is thin and elastic. The grain is large, elongated-elliptical, and straw-yellow in color, with a 1000-grain mass varying from 39 to 52 grams. The average yield of the variety reaches 3.4 tons per hectare, equivalent to 34.2 centners per hectare in approved regions. The "MOSCOW 3" variety is valued for its high grain quality, making it in demand for the brewing industry. It has been included in the list of valuable quality varieties, with protein content in the grain ranging from 10.2 to 15.2%. Plants exhibit high productive bushiness and uniformity of stem growth, which facilitates agronomic operations and promotes uniform maturation. The head is cylindrical, loose, with long awned awns, which is a characteristic feature of the variety. The variety is distinguished by good resistance to a range of diseases, including loose and stone smut, powdery mildew, and dwarf rust. However, it is moderately susceptible to root rots and stem rust, and is sensitive to striped mosaic and helminthosporium. Thanks to its agronomic and technological characteristics, "MOSCOW 3" is widely used in the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, and Middle Volga regions, as well as in other zones with suitable growing conditions.
