Lazar

LAZAR is a winter barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety distinguished by its mid-maturity and intended for grain and fodder use. The plant is medium-height with a semi-erect bush, semi-elongated grain of medium size. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 45 to 56 grams, with protein content ranging from 11.2% to 15.6%. Grain hardness is within 9.4–10.0%, characterizing it as a quality feed product.

The LAZAR variety exhibits high resistance to lodging, over-wetting, prolonged storage, and shattering, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. It is also resistant to major barley diseases such as septoria, dark brown leaf spot, and powdery mildew, contributing to stable and high yields even under challenging weather conditions.

LAZAR is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, including Krasnodar and Stavropol krais. The variety demonstrates high yield—averaging 44.1–60.6 centners per hectare, with maximum indicators reaching up to 76.6 c/ha, especially under dry conditions. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, LAZAR is a popular choice among agricultural producers for sowing and obtaining quality grain.
