Highlight

Highlight is a high-yielding winter barley variety with a six-row ear, distinguished by maximum grain filling and stable thousand-grain weight. Thanks to its high grain quality and easy straw separation during harvest, this variety enables the acquisition of a high-quality yield with high naturalness. Highlight possesses good winter hardiness, drought resistance, and increased resistance to yellow mosaic virus, ensuring stable yield performance under various climatic conditions.

For sowing Highlight, it is recommended to use optimal timing with a seeding rate of 3.0 to 3.6 million viable seeds per hectare. Early sowing by more than 5 days and rates below 3 million seeds are undesirable, whereas late sowing (up to 7 days after optimal timing) requires increasing the rate to 3.5–3.8 million seeds per hectare. An important component of agronomy is disease protection, especially against net blotch. This is achieved by applying two treatments with prothioconazole and bixafene at the stem elongation and flag leaf formation stages, effectively preserving plant health and yield.

Highlight requires increased attention to growth regulators. Application of trinexapacetyl or ethephon-based products during appropriate growth stages is a standard technology for this variety, promoting optimal plant growth and development.
