Oat — an annual cereal plant, widely used in agriculture and of great importance for various industries. It features an upright stem up to 60 cm tall and a fibrous root system. Oat flowers are bisexual, self-pollinating, but cross-pollination is possible in hot weather. Grain ripens in August–September, with a seeding rate of 160–220 g per 100 sq. meters.
Among oat varieties, spring oat stands out for its short vegetation period and drought resistance. It is less demanding in winter hardiness and ripens quickly, making it popular in various regions, including Ukraine. Spring oat is used as a forage crop, for beer production, alcohol production, and in the food industry, highlighting its versatility and economic significance.
Particular attention is deserved by the variety Delicatessa — a medium-early, two-row winter oat, highly resistant to fungal diseases. Thanks to selection aimed at forming large, well-arranged grains, this variety ensures high yields. The plant features rapid early growth, high tillering rate, medium height, and a strong stem resistant to lodging, which allows fully realizing the genetic potential of the variety and improving cultivation efficiency.
