Barley IS MALTIGO

Stable yields for intensive farming

The Slovak barley variety "IS Maltigo" from the breeding house ISTROPOL Solary a.s. is a choice for growers who prioritize crop management. In an era of climatic volatility, this two-row variety demonstrates a rare combination of compactness and resilience, allowing farmers to reduce costs on fungicide applications.

Agronomic Profile

The key feature of this model is its short stature (only 60-70 cm). Unlike tall varieties, "IS Maltigo" is much more resistant to lodging, which is critical for regions with strong winds or high soil nitrogen levels. A shorter stem redirects the plant's energy directly into ear formation rather than vegetative growth.

• Phytosanitary Shield: The variety possesses genetically determined resistance to key pathogens, including helminthosporiosis, net blotch, rhynchosporium, powdery mildew, and dwarf rust. This makes it highly predictable in plant protection management.
• Intensive Potential: As a two-row barley, the variety from ISTROPOL Solary a.s. thrives on fields with high fertility levels. It responds exceptionally well to mineral nutrition, producing plump, high-quality grain.

Who should choose "IS Maltigo"?

This variety is an optimal solution for farms practicing intensive cultivation technologies. If your goal is to secure a predictable harvest with high test weight while minimizing the risk of fungal infections, "IS Maltigo" serves as a reliable tool. It is forgiving regarding sowing windows and remains stable under challenging phytosanitary conditions. By choosing this variety, the farmer gains access to European breeding with precise characteristics, tested in the fields by experts from ISTROPOL Solary a.s. and Tibor Csemy.
