Barley Cristalia

Focusing on Short Stature and Stability

The «Kristalia» barley variety by Singenta Seeds is a breeding product tailored for farmers looking to eliminate the risks of lodging. In intensive farming systems, where high nitrogen applications often lead to excessive vegetative growth, opting for short-statured varieties is the most effective way to protect yield potential.

Agronomic Advantages

• Plant Height of 50–60 cm: This characteristic is critical for regions prone to heavy rain or high winds during the grain-filling stage. The shortened straw provides superior resistance to lodging, which significantly simplifies harvesting and minimizes field losses.
• Operational Efficiency: Plants with these specifications are perfectly suited for modern intensive cultivation protocols. Their compact structure improves aeration within the canopy, which helps reduce the risk of fungal disease development at the base of the plants.
• Swiss Breeding Standards: The development is backed by the resources of Singenta Seeds, ensuring rigorous quality control and genetic purity. Choosing seeds from this brand is an investment in consistent performance, where the field reality matches the technical specifications.

Practical Application Scenarios

This variety excels in fields with high fertility levels. For operations utilizing intensive technologies—including growth regulators—«Kristalia» allows the crop to maximize soil potential. Its compact growth habit ensures that plant resources are diverted from producing excessive straw toward grain filling, positively impacting the thousand-kernel weight and overall marketable yield.

When utilizing «Kristalia», it is essential to focus on precise seeding density. Short-statured varieties require careful management to ensure an optimal population density. This variety is a strategic choice for farming businesses that prioritize technological discipline and strive to minimize harvesting losses in every hectare.
