Acsinia — a spring barley variety of universal use, suitable for both compound feed production and brewing. It belongs to the food type with high content of vitamins and microelements. The variety is characterized by medium-late maturity and low stature, with an average plant height of about 60 cm, significantly reducing lodging risk and helping maintain grain quality. High lodging resistance ensures excellent milling and stable yields, which in 2015 ranged from 50 to 92.8 c/ha.
Acsinia exhibits high brewing qualities, including high malt extractability and friability, as well as good fermentation capacity. The variety shows disease resistance and maintains good phytosanitary conditions in crops, minimizing costs for plant protection products. To achieve maximum productivity, it is recommended to apply mineral fertilizers during the vegetation period and herbicide treatments to remove weeds competing for nutrients and water.
Sowing Acsinia does not require special predecessors and can be grown on various soils provided that high agronomic potential is maintained. Sowing rate is 320–450 germinated seeds per square meter, seed depth — 3–4 cm. Spikelet count reaches 800–1000 per square meter, indicating high productivity of the variety. Thanks to its qualities and adaptability, Acsinia is a reliable choice for agricultural producers aiming to obtain high-quality barley for various purposes.
