BAGAN

BAGAN is a mid-early and medium-height spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety, primarily intended for grain and fodder use. It was developed and approved for cultivation in the Western Siberia and Eastern Siberia regions, where it demonstrates a medium yield of about 21.8 centners per hectare. The weight of a thousand grains varies from 46 to 55 grams, indicating good grain quality for fodder purposes. The variety possesses moderate resistance to powdery scab, but is susceptible to helminthosporiosis and root rots, which requires a careful approach to plant protection. Bagan was bred with the participation of leading scientific institutions, including the Federal Research Center of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Siberian Federal Scientific Center for Agrobiotechnology. Its breeding is aimed at adaptation to the climatic conditions of Siberia, ensuring stable development and yield in the specified regions. The variety is characterized by good germination and energy of germination, which promotes even and rapid crop development. Despite high productivity and adaptability, the variety requires adherence to agronomic measures to minimize the risk of diseases. It is recommended to monitor crop conditions and apply appropriate protection measures against helminthosporiosis and root rots.
