Barley variety Amarena is a winter crop with high winter hardiness, rated 9 points, ensuring its reliable winter survival in the western forest-steppe of Ukraine. This variety is characterized by resistance to lodging, allowing it to maintain yield quality and quantity even under adverse weather conditions. Amarena also demonstrates high resistance to diseases, contributing to stable and high grain yields.
To achieve the target yield of 8.0 tons per hectare, application of mineral fertilizers at the calculated rates of N129P66K132 kg of active substances is recommended. Application of phosphorus and potassium is especially important during early growth stages to enhance winter hardiness and overall plant health. The optimal sowing period for Amarena variety is from September 15 to 25, with a seeding rate of 4–4.5 million germinating seeds per hectare, ensuring good stand and crop development.
Amarena variety seeds must meet established quality standards, including mandatory treatment and pest control, which guarantees high germination rates and protection of plants during early growth stages. Thanks to its characteristics and genetic potential, the Amarena variety can significantly exceed standard yield performance, providing an increase of up to 1.23 tons of grain per hectare compared to the standard variety.
