Early and high-yielding variety with high fruit uniformity and marketability
Paris — an early eggplant variety, from seedling transplanting to technical maturity in 60-70 days. The Paris variety plant reaches a height of 60-80 cm, characterized by early and simultaneous branching, compact fruit placement. Fruits are cylindrical, weighing 150-250 g, with smooth and shiny skin, 25-30 cm long, 4-6 cm in diameter. Flesh is light, dense, excellent taste, free of bitterness. Color is very bright, deep purple. Regular harvesting of Paris eggplant fruits, every 7-8 days, extends the vegetation period and increases yield. Yield of the Paris variety — 40-50 t/ha. Also, irrigation affects the quality of eggplant fruits, enhancing their marketability and average weight. From planting to fruit set, soil moisture should be maintained at no less than 75% of field capacity. Paris variety plants are resistant to tobacco mosaic virus. Considering eggplant's high requirement for warmth, all agronomic practices, especially during vegetation, should promote better soil warming. Therefore, the primary task is to conduct timely and quality inter-row cultivation. Grown from 60-70-day-old seedlings (ready-to-transplant seedlings should have 5-7 true leaves). Sowing seeds for seedlings should begin at the end of February until early March. The most common method of cultivation — cassette (seeds are sown into special cassettes with a specific cell diameter). Seedlings of eggplant are recommended to be transplanted into open ground from late May to the first decade of June (depending on the region of cultivation). Planting scheme: under sprinkler irrigation 70 Х 30 cm, under drip 90+50 Х (25-30) cm.
