The BAZHENA grape variety belongs to the ultra-early varieties with a maturation period of 100 to 110 days. This hybrid, bred by crossing the Podarunok Zaporizhzhia and Arkadiya varieties, features large conical berries weighing 12 to 18 grams, which have a yellow-green hue and a heart-shaped elongated form. The berries possess a harmonious taste with a characteristic variety aroma, but without the muscat notes associated with the Arkadia variety. With proper care and yield normalization, clusters can reach a weight of 700 grams to 1.5 kilograms, and up to 2.5 kilograms if the load on the bush is reduced. The berries are not prone to berry drop and do not crack, even if left on the bush for a long time, although when overripe, the skin becomes denser and the taste acquires fruity shades. BAZHENA grape bushes are vigorous with hermaphroditic flowers, ensuring good pollination and stable fruiting. The variety is characterized by high resistance to temperature fluctuations and frost down to -22 ºC, allowing it to be grown in central and northern regions. In addition, BAZHENA has increased resistance to fungal diseases such as mildew and oidium, with a stability rating of 3–3.5 points. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is well-suited for commercial cultivation and transportation, maintaining appearance and taste qualities during transport. Growing BAZHENA grapes requires proper care and yield normalization to achieve maximum productivity and berry quality. Early maturation allows for harvest collection by the end of July, which is advantageous for the early market. The variety is not attacked by wasps and is not prone to berry cracking, which facilitates care and reduces losses. Due to its characteristics and taste qualities, BAZHENA grapes are an excellent choice for both enthusiasts and professional viticulturists seeking an early, stable, and high-quality harvest.
