Variety selected by the Stavropol Experimental Station for Horticulture. Obtained by crossing the selected form Zherdeli with the late variety Krasnochekiy. Authors: A.I. Seredenko, Starykh V.V. Regionally approved in the Stavropol region in 2000.
Tree large, medium-growing, with an inverted pyramidal crown of medium density and good foliage. Main branches long, medium thickness with an angle of departure around 50°. Shoots medium length, slightly knotted, reddish-brown. Leaf large, broad, rounded, dark green, smooth, matte with slight gloss. Flower medium size, solitary, petals white with a light-pink tint. Fruits borne on one-year growth and shortened shoots (spurs).
Fruits large, one-dimensional, average weight 40-45 g, oval-rounded shape, slightly compressed on sides, main color light yellow. On the sunny side of the fruit, a pink blush appears with clearly visible carmine-red spots covering from 1/2 to 1/4 of the fruit surface. Skin medium thickness, slightly hairy, dull, does not peel off the fruit. Flesh light-yellow, juicy, slightly fibrous, medium density, tart-sweet flavor with apricot aroma. Juice colorless. Pit medium size, oval-rounded, easily separates from flesh. Seed bitter, with characteristic almond taste. Fruits contain 15.9% dry matter, 11.2% sugars, 19.4% vitamin C. Peduncle short, thick, firmly attached to the pit.
Fruits ripen in mid-late season (end of July), 3-6 days later than Krasnochekiy, characterized by good transportability and versatility in use.
Blooms in mid-season (5-6 days), self-sterile, best pollinators: Krasnochekiy, Stavropol Youth. Variety is early-bearing. Trees grafted onto apricot enter fruiting phase 3-4 years after planting. Yield in 5-6 years averages 35-40 kg per tree, in 17-18 years 70-93 kg per tree.
Winter hardiness of trees and flower buds is relatively high. Drought-resistant. Requires well-drained soils, sunlight, warmth, and moisture. Responsive to fertilizer application. Requires measures for disease and pest control. More durable and productive when grown on elevated terrain. Crown formation by improved open-tiered crown. Due to vigorous growth, requires limiting pruning followed by redirection of the leader to lateral branches.
Advantages of the variety: early entry into fruiting phase, high flower bud winter hardiness, resistance to Clasterosporium and monilial burn, late fruit ripening, attractive appearance, and high taste and canning qualities.
Disadvantages of the variety: high growth, fruit shrinkage under heavy yield, bitter seed, self-sterility, requires planting pollinator varieties for normal fruiting.
