Apple PEPIN CHERNENKO

Genetic Resilience and Adaptability

The 'Pepin Chernenko' cultivar, developed with the contribution of S. F. Chernenko and refined by 'Ooo Agronom-sad', represents a classic selection adapted to climates prone to harsh winters. The core value of this variety lies in its blend of high winter hardiness and distinct resistance to common apple scab. In both commercial and amateur orchard environments, this characteristic significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications.

Fruit Morphology and Internal Indicators

Technically, the 'Pepin Chernenko' fruit displays an optimal balance of biochemical components. The flesh is characterized by a light cream to yellowish-white color. Its density ensures excellent transportability and, crucially for logistics, a prolonged storage life. Observations confirm a shelf life of 5–6 months under proper storage conditions, placing this variety firmly in the mid-winter category with significant commercial potential.

Practical Agrotechnical Recommendations

Through the breeding efforts of 'Ooo Agronom-sad', this cultivar consistently produces yields on medium-sized rootstocks. The genetic resistance to apple scab is a critical advantage when planting intensive orchards in humid regions. It is highly recommended that agronomists focus on proper crown formation to maximize sun exposure, which enhances fruit coloration and sugar accumulation.
