Anemone SVELENA

A Bright Accent in Landscape Design

The 'Svelena' anemone is the result of breeding work by the FSC of the Russian Academy of Sciences, led by Valentina Vasilyevna Kozina. This variety has firmly established its place as a perennial ornamental crop capable of withstanding specific climatic conditions, making it more predictable to grow than many imported alternatives.

Key Advantages

• Rich Palette: The bright red petals stand out vividly against the greenery, creating a striking visual contrast that is rare among classic garden anemones.
• Adaptability: The variety shows high vitality when grown in temperate climates.
• Versatile Use: 'Svelena' looks equally harmonious in classic flower beds, on rocky hills in rock gardens, and holds up excellently as a cut flower, maintaining the freshness of the inflorescences.

Features and Recommendations

The main strength of this perennial is its resistance to local weather factors. Unlike finicky hybrids that require specific greenhouse conditions or complex winter protection, 'Svelena' is forgiving of minor gardening mistakes. However, to unlock the variety's full potential, it is important to consider its preference for structured soil with good drainage. A potential weakness is sensitivity to waterlogging at the roots, so ensure a layer of gravel or sand is prepared when planting in rock gardens.

This variety is an optimal choice for those seeking a balance between decorative appeal and low maintenance. It is suitable for both professional landscape designers working on urban projects and private homeowners who want a consistent "red flame" blooming on their property.
