Vasilisa is a large-fruited cherry variety that quickly attracts the attention of gardeners thanks to its high yield and excellent taste qualities. The tree reaches a height of up to 4 m, has arc-shaped crowns with a spherical shape and strong branching, which ensures good air and light penetration within the bush.
The fruits of the Vasilisa variety are characterized by a round shape, weight of about 15 g, a smooth shiny skin, and a rich red hue. The flesh is dense, the taste is sweet with a slight wine flavor, and the caloric content is only 50 kcal per 100 g, making the berries useful and low-calorie products. The fruits ripen in June–July, retain their commercial appearance for a long time, and withstand transportation well.
The variety is self-sterile, but for maximum yield, additional pollinators are recommended – Valeria, Burilat, Annushka. Cherry Vasilisa is resistant to diseases and frosts; with mulching, it endures cold winters without loss of fruit quality. To protect against pests, timely treatments are necessary. Thanks to these characteristics, Vasilisa becomes a popular choice both for home garden cultivation and for processing into various confectionery products.
