Anemone Danaya

Cultivating 'Danaya' Anemones: Operational Insights

Managing the 'Danaya' variety, developed by the Federal Research Center for Subtropical Science, requires precise agricultural practices to ensure consistent yields. This perennial anemone is specifically bred for high-quality cut flower production.

Planting and Maintenance Protocol

The operational success of this crop hinges on the planting depth. Maintaining a depth of 10 cm is essential for robust stem development. Deviation from this standard results in either premature freezing or delayed emergence, impacting the overall uniformity of the field. Soil preparation must prioritize drainage to prevent bulb rot during the dormant season.

Yield and Handling

• Cut Flower Utility: The stems are notably sturdy, maintaining verticality which is vital for commercial grading and packing.
• Color Profile: A mix of white and pink blooms provides a classic, versatile palette for floral design.
• Longevity: As a perennial, 'Danaya' simplifies long-term field management, provided that initial planting conditions are met.

Daily maintenance includes monitoring moisture levels and systematic fertilization during the vegetative growth phase. The variety is highly predictable, making it a reliable choice for operations looking to optimize labor costs while securing a steady output of premium blooms.
