Moltkia intermedia

The plant originates from the mountainous regions of the Balkan Peninsula. Due to its natural habitat, it is perfectly adapted for cultivation in rock gardens, scree slopes, and well-drained borders where other perennials might fail.

This species requires full sun to thrive. Exposure to direct sunlight is essential for maintaining the plant's compact habit and ensuring a prolific display of flowers throughout the growing season.

The soil must be exceptionally well-drained, preferably rocky or gritty, with a neutral to alkaline pH. Heavy or waterlogged soils are detrimental and typically lead to root rot, which is the primary cause of plant failure in garden settings.
