For successful cultivation, Odontochilus requires bright but indirect light. Direct sunlight can severely damage the intricate leaf structure, causing bleaching and tissue death. Placing these plants in a shaded corner or a specialized terrarium is the most effective approach.

The climate requirements include high humidity, ideally between 70% and 85%. Maintaining such levels in a standard home environment can be difficult, which is why indoor glass cases are the preferred method for long-term growth.

The substrate must provide excellent drainage while retaining enough moisture for the roots. A mixture of long-fibered sphagnum moss, perlite, and fine bark is ideal for these plants, as it mimics the natural organic debris of their native habitat.
