Lyroglossa

Geographically, these plants originate from countries in South and Central America. Their range covers regions with subtropical and tropical climates, where they favor open or semi-shaded areas with sufficient moisture levels.

Unlike agricultural crops, Lyroglossa is not a plant cultivated for commercial use. It has specific requirements for the soil substrate, which must be rich in humus and provide excellent aeration, a common necessity for many terrestrial orchids.

Botanically, the plant is characterized by rosette leaves and spiked inflorescences consisting of small, often greenish or whitish flowers. The unique structural features of the labellum allow for accurate classification of the genus members within the tribe.
