By consuming the primary and secondary roots of plants, they interfere with nutrient and water uptake, which is particularly devastating for young, developing crops that lack extensive root systems.
The biological cycle of these beetles is complex and often spans several years, typically ranging from three to five years depending on the species and environmental conditions.
