Marcella

Marcella F1 zucchini is an early, bush-type hybrid developed by Enza Zaden (Netherlands), suitable for cultivation both in greenhouses and open ground. The maturation period is 48-53 days, allowing harvest from early spring to late autumn. The plant is spreading, evenly laden with fruit, forming 5 to 14 fruits, with yields reaching 700-900 centners per hectare in commercial cultivation, up to a maximum of 1900 centners. One plant can produce about 30 fruits per season.

Marcella zucchini fruits have a cylindrical or slightly conical shape, 16 to 22 cm long and weighing 200 grams to 1 kilogram, depending on growing conditions. The skin is smooth, with a bright green or light green hue, sometimes with fine speckling and slight ribbing. The flesh is dense, milky or white, tender and flavorful, retaining its structure and nutritional properties even when overripe. Thanks to these qualities, the harvest is well-suited for commercial use and culinary applications.

The hybrid exhibits high stress tolerance and resistance to several viral diseases, including mosaic virus, powdery mildew, and others, ensuring stable yields. Marcella zucchini seeds are suitable for various cultivation methods, but optimal results are achieved when seedlings are grown and subsequently cultivated in greenhouses. Harvested fruits can be stored under cool conditions for up to two weeks without losing their market appearance, making this hybrid convenient for commercial cultivation and sale.
