Zucchini Karina

Reliable Yields from Sedek Breeding

The 'Karina' zucchini variety is the result of long-term work by a team of breeders led by Sergey Dubinin, Irina Dubinina, and Anatoly Lukyanenko. This hybrid, introduced by the Sedek seed company, has established a strong presence in the bush-type segment, focusing on high-quality early harvest production. In intensive vegetable farming, where resistance to pathogens is critical, 'Karina' demonstrates high resistance to anthracnose and powdery mildew, which significantly reduces the need for fungicide applications.

Agronomic Features and Fruit Characteristics

The compact bush habit allows for efficient use of planting space while ensuring good air circulation, serving as an additional barrier against fungal diseases. The primary fruit parameters make 'Karina' highly desirable for both private households and small-scale farms:

• Shape: classic cylindrical, ideal for culinary purposes and industrial processing.
• Color: a palette ranging from light green to deep green, giving the produce a fresh market appearance.
• Size: 16–18 cm in length, meeting the most popular market standards.
• Weight: 200 to 500 grams, convenient for portioned use.

The reputation of this variety is built on harvest predictability. Unlike many competitors, 'Karina' maintains its market quality even under slight temperature fluctuations. For growers, this translates to minimal risks of sub-standard produce and stable income driven by the attractive appearance of the fruits. The variety is well-adapted to varied climatic conditions, a fact supported by years of successful cultivation practice.
