The breeding efforts of the Educational and Scientific Center "V.I. Edelstein Vegetable Experimental Station" have resulted in a variety optimized for the rigorous demands of modern commercial production. "Goodwin" is a bush-type zucchini cultivar with a focus on early maturation and robust resistance to a complex of pests, which is critical for reducing pesticide reliance.

Technical Specifications and Yield Dynamics

• Vegetation Period: The variety shows rapid crop turnover, reaching technical maturity within 40–45 days after full germination. This allows for precise planning of sequential production cycles.
• Fruit Morphology: The fruits feature a classic cylindrical shape, ideal for industrial processing and retail packaging. The skin color is light green, with individual marketable fruit weight ranging from 600 to 900 grams.
• Biological Defense: A unique feature of this variety is its high natural resistance to a wide spectrum of pests, including weevils, the Colorado potato beetle, cutworms, thrips, true bugs, and aphids. This is the result of targeted selection by the breeder (N.N. Vorobyeva) to enhance the crop's innate immune traits.
