Snow Queen

Winter barley 'Snow Queen' is a high-yield, mid-season variety with a dwarf stem, intended for cultivation under intensive farming conditions across all of Ukraine. The crop has a vegetation period of 269-277 days and forms a medium-length, rectangular six-rowed ear (6-8 cm) with long yellow awns. Plants reach a height of 90-95 cm, have short stems and straw-yellow color. The grain is medium-sized, yellow, and elongated, with a 1000-grain weight of 44-45 g.

The variety exhibits high yield potential — 9-10 t/ha (100 c/ha), as well as high winter hardiness (8-9 points) and drought resistance (7-8 points). 'Snow Queen' is distinguished by high resistance to lodging (8-9 points) and carries genetic resistance to powdery mildew and stripe rust, at the 7-8 point level. Thanks to these characteristics, the variety is reliable under various climatic conditions and ensures stable yields.

The agronomy for this variety is standard for the cultivation zone. It is recommended to treat seeds with Yunta Quadro and Celest Top to prevent root rot and foliar diseases. The variety responds well to mineral fertilizer application, which helps maximize its yield potential.
