Barley Deeplo

German Genetics for High-Yield Performance

The winter barley variety 'Diplo' from the renowned German breeder Deutsche Saatveredelung (DSV) is designed for farmers who prioritize yield stability and grain quality. As a two-row variety, it stands out from its multi-row counterparts by offering superior grain uniformity and a higher hectoliter weight—key metrics for both the export market and malting industry requirements.

Comprehensive Phytosanitary Defense

One of the main advantages of this variety is its inherent genetic resistance to a wide range of foliar diseases. In high-pressure years, the ability of 'Diplo' to withstand infections significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, which is a major factor in lowering overall production costs. The variety shows strong resistance to:

• Helminthosporium leaf blotch;
• Rhynchosporium (leaf scald);
• Powdery mildew;
• Dwarf leaf rust.

This natural defense mechanism ensures the plant stays healthy and productive from stem elongation to grain filling, even in challenging environmental conditions.

Why Choose Diplo?

The 'Diplo' barley is best suited for intensive agricultural systems. Its two-row ear structure encourages excellent tillering and the development of heavy, plump grains, even when moisture availability is suboptimal during the grain-filling period. By combining European breeding expertise with solid field performance, 'Diplo' offers a reliable path to consistent harvests. It is an ideal choice for producers who need a crop that handles intensive farming practices while delivering premium-quality grain that consistently meets market specifications.
