Tulunsaya 12 is a variety of soft spring wheat, characterized by a medium-early maturation period and high adaptability to various climatic conditions. Depending on the region, the variety belongs to the Lutescens and Eritrospermum types, which is reflected in the mass of 1000 grains, varying from 27 to 42 grams. The ear is pyramid-shaped of medium density, and resistance to lodging is assessed as good, which contributes to crop preservation under unfavorable weather conditions. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including Eastern Siberia, Volga-Vyatka, Ural, and Western Siberia, as well as in the Central and Southern zones of the Irkutsk region, Perm region, and several regions of Siberia and the Urals.
Tulunsaya 12 possesses resistance to a number of diseases, including brown rust and solid bunt, however it is susceptible to powdery bunt, septoria, powdery mildew, as well as brown and stem rusts. Drought resistance of the variety is at a medium or slightly above average level, which makes it suitable for regions with variable moisture. The yield of the variety varies depending on the region and can reach about 28 c/ha in Volga-Vyatka and Western Siberia regions, which indicates its stable productivity.
To improve germination and improve wheat growth, Tulunsaya 12 is recommended to use the fungicide «Bunker». This drug reduces the level of seed infection, stimulates the development of the root system and aerial part of seedlings when applied in recommended doses. However, exceeding the concentration of the drug can negatively affect plant development, so it is important to adhere to recommended treatment norms. Baking quality of the variety is assessed as satisfactory, and it is also well suited as a filler, which expands its possibilities for use in agriculture.
