Tenor

Winter six-row barley Tenor is a high-yielding variety developed in 2017 and intended for cultivation in the forest-steppe zone. It is characterized by high yield potential, which can reach up to 10.5 t/ha (100 c/ha) under favorable conditions. Plants reach a height of about 90 cm, possess high bushiness and moderate grain number per ear, contributing to high-quality and abundant harvests. The 1000-grain weight is 52-55 g, and the protein content in the grain reaches 11.8%, making this variety attractive for grain use.

The Tenor variety is characterized by high resistance to major barley diseases such as powdery mildew, rhihosporeiosis, spot diseases, yellow dwarf, rust, and yellow mosaic virus (BaYMV) type 1. Additionally, it exhibits resistance to lodging and ear shattering, ensuring harvest preservation under adverse weather conditions. Barley demonstrates good winter hardiness (6 points) and drought tolerance, as well as rapid autumn development, enabling successful cultivation even on poor soils and late sowing.

The variety was developed by the company "Rost Agro" under the original breeder KWS (Austria). Seed material is supplied in big-bags of 1 ton and 50 kg bags with quality certification and authenticity confirmation. Seed reproduction is first-generation, year of harvest — 2024.
