Wheat Patricia

French Precision in Spring Wheat Breeding

Secobra Recherches S.A.S. has built its reputation on breeding programs that prioritize high-performance varieties for intensive farming. The «Patricia» wheat variety is a prime example of this French approach, where the synergy between yield potential and physiological robustness is carefully balanced for the modern grower.

Key Agronomic Strengths

The standout feature of «Patricia» is its ability to produce heavy, high-quality grain while maintaining significant tillering capacity. With a thousand-grain weight (TGW) ranging from 40 to 45 grams, this variety meets the needs of producers looking for high milling quality. A critical advantage of this variety is its lodging resistance; even under high nitrogen fertilization regimes intended to push the yield toward the 8–9 ton potential, the stem structure remains upright, drastically reducing losses during the harvest phase.

Strategic Application

«Patricia» is designed for professional farming operations with well-managed plant protection and nutrition systems. It thrives in regions with adequate soil moisture, where its genetic potential can compete with winter wheat varieties. On the flip side, this is not a 'low-input' crop; it demands fertility and proper management to fully unlock its 8–9 ton yield limit. Its early-season vigor is another notable trait, helping the crop establish quickly and outcompete weeds in the early stages.

• Yield Potential: Up to 9 tons per hectare under optimal conditions.
• Structural Integrity: High lodging resistance ensures a clean and efficient harvest.
• Grain Quality: Large, uniform seeds (40-45g per 1000 seeds) enhance marketability.

If your agricultural strategy is built on maximizing yield efficiency and investing in modern technology, the French-bred «Patricia» provides the reliable foundation required to achieve top-tier results.
