This variety is genuine spelt, developed from the cross Oberkulmer Rotkorn and Balmegg, both parents belonging to the species Triticum spelta without any admixture of Triticum aestivum. The variety is characterized by high protein and gluten content, ensuring excellent grain quality comparable to Oberkulmer Rotkorn. This makes it especially suitable for organic farming, as well as intensive cultivation on clean or fertile fields.

The seeds of this variety have good germination, about 85%, although the impurity level slightly exceeds the requirements for certified seeds.
