LYGOVSKAYA 31

Lygovskaya 31 is a type of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) of medium maturity, characterized by high frost and winter hardiness. This high-intensity variety is distinguished by high ecological plasticity, which allows for successful cultivation in various regions, including the Middle-Volga, Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, and Lower-Volga regions. The plant is of medium length (71-88 cm) with a semi-erect bush and a medium-length, medium-density, cylindrical white head. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 36 to 50 grams depending on growing conditions; the grain is of medium size, semi-lengthened, and colored. The vegetative period ranges from 295 to 318 days.

The variety is resistant to lodging, shattering, and root sprouting, and possesses high drought resistance. It demonstrates good resistance to diseases such as common bunt, septoria, stripe rust, and helminthosporiosis, which contributes to stable yields. Average yields in various regions reach 37.2-57.1 centners/hectare, while maximum yield indicators in production can reach 73.5-88.6 centners/hectare.

Baking qualities of the Lygovskaya 31 variety are assessed as good, making it in demand for the production of high-quality flour. Recommended sowing dates correspond to those generally accepted in growing zones, while late sowing dates are also permitted. The sowing rate is 4.0–4.5 million viable seeds per hectare. Seeds of this variety are available in elite and super-elite replications, ensuring high yield potential and seed quality.
