RAFINAD is a mid-early watermelon variety that matures 78-80 days after seedling emergence. This variety is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under temporary film coverings, allowing adaptation to various climatic conditions and extending the growing season. Sowing seeds in open ground is recommended at the end of May to early June when the soil temperature reaches 15°С, while seedling sowing should be done in early May followed by transplanting after the appearance of 3-4 true leaves. RAFINAD watermelon fruits have an oval shape and an average weight of 3.5 to 4.0 kg. The rind is thin but dense, light green in color with characteristic gray mottling, giving the fruits an attractive appearance. The flesh is bright red, juicy, and very sweet, with a tender texture and rich flavor, making this variety especially popular among lovers of sweet watermelons. When grown under film coverings, plants are grown on a single stem, with side shoots removed up to a height of 50 cm and subsequent ones pinched off above the 1-3 leaf. In open ground, the first 3-4 fruits are left on the plant, after which the top is pinched to improve fruit quality. The planting scheme is 140x70 cm, which ensures optimal space for plant development and high yields.
