Watermelon Kasumi

Kasumi Watermelon: A Modern Solution by Greenomica

As the demand for convenience-sized produce grows, the Greenomica seed company has introduced the Kasumi watermelon to bridge the gap between industrial yield and consumer preference for compact, portion-sized fruit. This hybrid is designed for growers who prioritize predictability and marketability in their seasonal crop planning.

Key Characteristics and Cultivation

Kasumi is a mid-season hybrid with a vegetation period of 70-80 days. This timeline allows for efficient crop management, fitting well into standard rotation cycles while ensuring the fruit reaches optimal sugar levels and structural integrity.

• Physical Specifications: The fruit is characterized by a uniform, round shape and a highly desirable weight range of 3.0 to 5.0 kg. This consistency is a major advantage for commercial packing and retail distribution.
• Internal Quality: The flesh is deep red and firm, which contributes to its shelf life and handling durability during transport from the field to the point of sale.

Market Position

In today's agricultural landscape, the ability to deliver a consistent, high-quality product is paramount. Kasumi by Greenomica addresses the specific needs of modern households that prefer smaller melons that can be consumed fresh in one sitting. For the grower, this means a reliable product that meets retail weight standards, reducing the risks associated with oversized or uneven harvests. By focusing on these specific market-driven traits, Greenomica has established Kasumi as a dependable asset for professional producers looking to maintain a strong competitive edge.
