HAGER

Hager Watermelon is a mid-early ripening hybrid with a triploid set of chromosomes. The plant is trailing with a main vine of medium length and green, deeply lobed, wrinkled leaves of medium size. The fruits are round, with dark green to very dark green rind, on which faint stripes of medium width are barely visible. The average fruit weight reaches 8 kg; the thick rind contributes to their storage. The flesh is red, dark red in color, of medium density, and has excellent taste. Yield of marketable fruits with irrigation is 3.9 kg per square meter. Hager Watermelon is drought-resistant and capable of maintaining its marketable qualities for 30 days after harvest.
