Maxima watermelon is a mid-early hybrid with a maturation period of 65 to 85 days after seedling planting. The fruits have a round or round-oval shape with smooth dark green rind, sometimes with a whitish bloom, and weigh from 3.1 to 4 kilograms. The flesh is characterized by a saturated pink or dark red color, high juiciness and sweet taste, as well as high lycopene content, which gives it additional beneficial properties. The seeds are small and light brown, which contributes to ease of consumption.

The plant is powerful with a developed leaf apparatus that effectively protects the fruits from sunburn. Maxima watermelon is distinguished by high yield – up to 30 to 46 tons of fruits per hectare with a marketability of 80-90%. The variety is resistant to diseases such as anthracnose, fusarium wilt and powdery mildew, and is adapted for cultivation in northern watermelon growing zones. At the same time, it is demanding for light, which must be taken into account in agronomy.

Maxima watermelon fruits withstand transportation well and can be stored for more than 5-6 weeks without losing their market and taste qualities. Due to these characteristics, the variety is suitable for commercial cultivation and distribution over long distances. In addition, watermelons of this variety are excellent for pickling, which expands their usage possibilities.
