The HAN-SHERKAT watermelon is an early-maturing, high-yielding hybrid developed by the breeding company Bakker Brothers from the Netherlands. It is intended for cultivation during the main summer season and is characterized by powerful vegetative vigor and a well-developed root system, which ensures effective nutrition and water supply to the plant. The vegetative period ranges from 60 to 70 days, allowing for harvest in a short time. The hybrid is distinguished by high adaptability to various soil types and weather conditions, as well as strong immunity and resistance to fusarium.
The fruits of the HAN-SHERKAT watermelon have an oval-round shape and an average mass of 10 to 15 kg. The rind is of medium thickness, dark green in color with characteristic light green stripes, giving the fruits an attractive appearance. The flesh is a rich red color, firm and crisp, with a high sugar content — up to 12%, ensuring a sweet and rich taste. The fruits contain small seeds, and each plant is capable of forming two large fruits.
The hybrid is distinguished by excellent transportability and high fruit uniformity, making it convenient for commercial cultivation and marketing. Due to its unpretentiousness and plasticity, the HAN-SHERKAT watermelon easily adapts to various cultivation technologies, allowing for stable and high-quality yields on different territories.
