The Crimson Sweet standard: Greenomica Smart Watermelon

The 'Smart' watermelon variety by Greenomica represents a focused approach to the Crimson Sweet segment. Developed for producers who demand consistency and marketability, this hybrid has established itself as a reliable choice for commercial agriculture, blending traditional characteristics with modern breeding rigor.

Performance and Agronomics

With a maturation period of 65–70 days, the Smart hybrid fits perfectly into mid-season harvest schedules, ensuring that product hits the market when demand is optimal. Its design is centered around market-ready attributes:

• Uniformity: The rounded fruit shape ensures ease of stacking and shipping, reducing post-harvest losses.
• Market Specs: With an individual fruit weight ranging from 8 to 12 kg, it hits the sweet spot for retail chains and wholesale buyers.
• Internal Quality: Consumers appreciate the deep red, crisp flesh, which is a hallmark of the Greenomica selection process.

In the field, Smart is recognized for its robust performance in open-ground conditions. It is engineered to respond predictably to standard fertility programs, which minimizes the need for complex cultivation protocols. For growers, this means reduced risk and higher operational efficiency. By maintaining strict control over the genetic integrity of the Smart hybrid, Greenomica provides a consistent product that delivers year after year, reinforcing its reputation as a stable performer in the professional melon market.
