Lahat

Lahat F1 watermelon is an early hybrid developed by the Dutch breeding company Hazera. The vegetative period is 65-70 days from transplanting seedlings to the permanent location. The plant is compact, with a strong leaf canopy and sturdy stems, promoting active growth on loose soils under drip irrigation and fertilization. The hybrid is resistant to Fusarium wilt, enhancing its reliability in cultivation.

The fruits of the Lahat watermelon have a round-oval shape and weigh on average 10-12 kg. The dark green rind features barely visible dark stripes and is covered with a waxy coating, providing excellent protection against pests and overheating. The rind is thin yet firm, giving the fruits high transportability and good storability, making this variety popular for fresh market sales and long-term storage.

The flesh is deep red, sweet, and uniform, with a sugar content of 10-12%. There are few seeds in the flesh, increasing the fruit's consumer appeal. The seeds have high germination rates (around 98%), and the seedlings are resilient to changes in climatic conditions. The recommended planting density is 6-8 thousand plants per hectare, which is optimal for achieving high yields of quality fruits.
