Gavrosh is a mid-early watermelon variety intended for cultivation in open ground in the central region and in the south of Russia. The period from germination to the first harvest is 78-90 days. The plant is vining with a main vine length ranging from medium to long, allowing for efficient use of trellises for tying. It is recommended to remove all side shoots and pinch subsequent ones over the 1-3th leaf or to grow the watermelon in a single layer. Sowing for seedlings is done in late April, and transplanting to open ground in late May to early June, when seedlings reach 30-35 days of age. Fruits of the Gavrosh variety have a wide-oval or round shape with smooth light green rind decorated with dark green fringed or medium-wide stripes. Watermelon mass varies from 2.7 to 7 kg, with a strong and thin rind, 1.0 to 1.5 cm thick. The flesh is a rich dark red color, granular, juicy, and very sweet, making this variety especially attractive to consumers. Fruits form on the main stem very early and mature over approximately 30 days. The Gavrosh variety is distinguished by high shelf life and good transportability, ensuring fruit preservation during transport and storage. It possesses resistance to diseases such as fusarium and anthracnose, which increases crop reliability. The yield of marketable fruits reaches 1.3-2.9 kg per square meter. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, the Gavrosh variety is an excellent choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions of the central region and south of Russia.
