SOLARIS is a mid-season, high-yield watermelon variety, maturing approximately 80 days from germination. The plant is moderately vining, forming 2-3 fruits per vine. The fruits are round, bright yellow in color with bright orange, spiny stripes, weighing from 4 to 7 kg. The rind is of medium thickness, the flesh is dense and granular, yellow in color, distinguished by a very delicate and sweet exotic taste with a sugar content of up to 11.0%. The seeds are dark brown. Due to high transportability, the fruits retain their marketable qualities for 15-20 days after harvesting. The variety is intended for cultivation in film-covered structures, greenhouses, and open ground, primarily in southern regions. Sowing for seedlings is recommended in late April, and transplanting seedlings in late May to early June, when the plants reach an age of 30-35 days. For optimal growth, the plants should be tied to a trellis; at this time, all lateral shoots should be removed up to a height of 50 cm, and subsequent ones should be pinched out above 1-3 leaves. Cultivation in free culture on the ground is also possible. Irrigation should be moderate, especially during fruit ripening, which contributes to the formation of a quality harvest. The recommended planting scheme is 70x150 cm, which provides sufficient space for plant and fruit development. The SOLARIS variety combines high yield, attractive appearance, and superior taste qualities, making it an excellent choice for cultivation for both commercial and personal purposes.
