RUBY HEART

The 'Ruby Heart' watermelon variety is a high-yielding early-maturing variety with a maturity period of 67 to 90 days. The plant is of medium power and moderately trailing, with a main vine of medium length. The fruits have an oval-elliptical shape, smooth light green rind with a pattern of green thread-like stripes, thin skin, and a weight of 2 to 4.7 kg. The watermelon flesh is intensely red, granular, tender, and very sweet, with a high content of dry matter, which ensures excellent taste qualities. The fruits retain freshness and taste for one month after harvesting.

The variety is characterized by high drought resistance and low susceptibility to diseases such as fusarium and anthracnose, making it reliable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. 'Ruby Heart' is suitable for cultivation both in film greenhouses and in open ground, including southern regions and the middle belt of Russia. To obtain a quality harvest, it is recommended to sow seeds for seedlings at the end of April, and transplant seedlings into the ground at the end of May or beginning of June, when the plants reach 30-35 days of age.

When growing, plants are tied to a trellis to a height of 50 cm, all side shoots are removed, and subsequent ones are pinched above the 1-3 leaf, or grown horizontally. The commercial yield of the variety is from 3.0 to 4.0 kg per square meter, which confirms its high productivity and economic attractiveness for farmers and gardeners.
