Description Kitaevskaya Chornaya
Cherries of the Kitaevskaya Chornaya variety are a medium-late Ukrainian selection, distinguished by high yield and winter hardiness. Trees of this variety are strong-growing with round, moderately dense crowns. Fruit-bearing begins on the 3rd to 6th year after planting, depending on growing conditions. Average yield is 40 to 56 kg per tree. The variety is recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe zones and the Polissya region, confirming its adaptability to various climatic conditions.

The fruits of Kitaevskaya Chornaya cherries are large, weighing 5 to 7 grams, have a rounded-heart shape, and a deep dark-red to nearly black color with a glossy, firm skin that does not crack even during rainy weather. The flesh is dark-red, dense, juicy, and has a pleasant wine-sweet taste, rated 8 points. The juice is also dark-red. The stone is medium-sized, oval, and easily separates from the flesh, facilitating consumption and processing of the berries.

The variety is versatile in use: fruits are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for making compotes and other home preserves. Due to its high transportability and attractive appearance, Kitaevskaya Chornaya cherries are in demand both in amateur and commercial orchards. Additionally, the variety shows resistance to diseases such as moniliosis and bacterial canker, reducing the need for frequent protective treatments and increasing crop reliability.
