MACARETTI

Vigna MACARETTI – an early variety of asparagus bean with high yield. The plant grows up to 2.5 m in stem length and forms pods up to 1 m long and 2 cm thick. The pods hang down in a solid wall, having a juicy and tender taste. From one inflorescence, 2-5 pods are formed, and from one bush, up to 3 kilograms of beans can be harvested.

The crop is drought-resistant and suitable for open ground until autumn frosts. During the season, the plant continuously builds up green mass, forming new fruits with small black-and-white seeds. Vigna MACARETTI has no parchment layer, which makes it more attractive compared to asparagus and other types of beans.

For growing, it is recommended to plant in mid-May at a depth of 3-4 cm or via seedlings in April, maintaining root integrity. Sowing scheme - 10x30-40 cm. During the vegetation period, 3-4 hoeings and 1-2 fertilizations are carried out: the first - nitrogen-phosphorus after germination, the second - phosphorus-potassium before bud formation. The plant requires sunny locations and vertical support; in northern regions, it is grown in greenhouses. Bean harvesting should begin 8-10 days after pod formation, and frequent harvesting of young pods stimulates the formation of new fruits.
