CHUCHA is a variety of vigna (asparagus bean) that is characterized by compact growth and high nutritional value. The plant usually reaches a height of 1 to 5 meters, depending on the chosen form: bush, semi-bush, or climbing. The stem is upright, leaves are wide and paired, and flowers are large, purple in color, collected in small clusters.
Vigna beans are straight, without parchment layer and fiber, up to 18 cm long and about 0.7 cm wide. They retain their green color even when fully mature, which makes them attractive for use both boiled and fried. Thanks to the absence of unnecessary coverings, the beans are easy to cook and have high nutritional value, which allows them to be used as a side dish or a separate dish.
Growing CHUCHA requires a moderate climate: the sowing temperature should not drop below +12 °C, and during growth – above +25 °C. The plant prefers a short day and can produce up to 350 flowers per season, however most of them fall off. For an optimal harvest, it is recommended to conduct frequent harvesting of young pods, which stimulates the formation of new fruits. CHUCHA is perfect for vertical greening thanks to its climbing structure and ability to create abundant shade.
